Sit. Down. Stay. Leash Manners. Recall. And much more!
Eric will draft a personalized training regime with step by step instructions to achieve your goals.
Note:The speed and efficiency of your dog's learning is largely based on the dog's learning ability, temperament, disposition, and above all else-- your commitment and consistency to the training plan.
Eric does not guarantee how long it will take, nor how long it will "stick."
You MUST practice regularly and remain consistent in order for your dog to achieve the desired result.
Don't worry . . . Eric's training plan takes your busy life into account!
Does your dog suffer from On-Leash Aggression (OLA)?
Is he or she rude, jumpy or mouthy?
Or maybe goes ballistic every time someone comes to your door or passes by your window?
Or tears your house apart when left alone or simply bored?
Eric can help your dog!
Behavior Modification loosely refers to changing any undesired behavior to an appropriate one. Eric will work with you, giving you the tools you need to better understand what your dog is trying to communicate to you and how you can clearly and efficiently communicate with your dog.
As with all of Eric's trainings, you will receive a detailed treatment plan, unlimited follow up emails, hands-on training / demonstration, and a general time frame.
He will help you to manage your dog's environment, setting up baby gates and barriers if needed, crate training, and much more.
Other common behaviors you may encounter (this is not a full list, just the most common problems):
*Lack of Response to given commands, or failure to come when called
*Rude / Jumpy/ Mouthy (RJM) to owners or guests
*Inappropriate Prey Drive
*Pushy/ Demand Behaviors
Note: The Speed and efficiency of your dog's learning is largely based on each dog's learning ability, temperament, disposition, age, and above all else-- your commitment and consistency to the training plan.
Eric does not guarantee how long it will take, nor how long it will "stick." You MUST practice regularly, and remain consistent in order for your dog to achieve the desired result.
And don't worry . . . Eric's training plan takes your busy life into account! And, YES, we can teach an old dog new tricks. It's never too late to start training!
Eric will teach you timing, shaping, capturing, and high rate reward. You will be able to effectively and efficiently train any trick, or behavior you can imagine!
The clicker is a tool used to pinpoint the exact moment your dog does something you like.
Clickers can be used for basic obedience, agility, "fungility," treadmill training, and much more.
Note: Eric will provide a loaner clicker for your first session. Thereafter, you are required to attain your own clicker and/or treat pouch as applicable. Also, your first session will be roughly split 50/50 between human:human work and dog:human work. This allows you to learn how the device works, and to get comfortable with it before introducing the clicker to your dog.
Perhaps one of the most heartbreaking behaviors.
When you leave your dog, do you come home to:
a) damage at entry/ exit points?
b) neighbors that have complained about extreme and incessant vocalizations?
c) urine or feces near entry/exit points?
If so, there is a good chance your dog is suffering from Separation Anxiety (SepAnx).
It is believed that approximately 17% of the nation’s 75million dogs suffer from SepAnx.
The dog goes into a complete and uncontrollable state of panic, beginning with the pre-departure ritual (putting on work shoes, collecting your keys, etc.) and culminating with you leaving. It is as if the sky is falling when they are left alone.
While it is no easy task, there is hope. Through a tried and tested, step by step, humane, and individualized treatment plan, we can help your dog learn that it is O.K. when you are gone and she/he is left alone.
The sky will not fall! We will boost your dog's confidence, bolster your leadership, install "alone-time training," and more to help your dog overcome this state of panic.
Note: There are many more diagnostics for SepAnx than those listed above; however, the ones I listed are the most common. Two of them (damage at entry/exit points and extreme vocalizations) must be present for the dog to be diagnosed with SepAnx. We will go over all the symptoms to rule out any other possible issues.
Recovering from surgery or injury?
Does your dog have more exercise needs than you can address by yourself?
Eric will take your dog for a minimum 1 hour walk. He will address common leash issues such as: leash pulling, dragging behind the handler, leash mouthing/ tugging, and general poor leash manners. He will set the foundation for you. When applicable, you can attend a structured walk with Eric, learn the techniques, and have enjoyable walks with your fuzzy buddy. . . instead of being Olive Oil on a flag pole as your dog drags you along for the ride!
Note: In order for the leash training to carry over from Eric to you, you MUST attend at least 1 walk for hands-on instruction and demonstration (the more you attend the better)! This can be achieved by purchasing a single training session, or can be included in a 4-5 day/week walk package.
On-Leash Aggression IS NOT part of "exercise" walks with leash training. This is an advanced behavior problem and requires more instruction and trainer participation to safely and humanely address the problem.
